Though this has been done plenty of times we still wanted to give it a go. Warping the vocals was a bit of a bitch but Lars is a warp masta and did the deed (you may notice the video footage playing back a bit fast – this was required so our remix would sync with the footage). I did the video tonight and now I’m releasing it and the song while Lars sleeps. He doesn’t even know I’m doing this, doubt he’ll mind though!

I recently got my hands on Ableton Live and decided to make a remix of Shop Boyz – Rock Star. Why rock star? Well, cause I had the a capella, that’s about the only reason why. Anywho, didn’t spend a lot of time on this one but I think it came out pretty alright! Although, I do wish Lars could have added his flavor to it but alas he’s busy with a festival in Norway.

This song started out as an original piece, but eventually became a remix. As we progressed we had the idea to intergrate the acapella of the swedish rap group “Maskinen” and thus it became a experimental electro house/hip hop tune.

The main lyrics in the song are:
“Alla som inte dansar är våldtäktsmän
Gäller hela kvällen mellan tolv och fem”

Which means:
“Anybody who does not dance is a rapist, and that counts between midnight to five in the morning”
