Not too long ago Lars and I were on skype and he started to drunkenly sing con te partiro or time to say goodbye and that’s where the idea was born. Though this has been done plenty of times we still wanted to give it a go. Warping the vocals was a bit of a bitch but Lars is a warp masta and did the deed (you may notice the video footage playing back a bit fast – this was required so our remix would sync with the footage). I did the video tonight and now I’m releasing it and the song while Lars sleeps. He doesn’t even know I’m doing this, doubt he’ll mind though!

I recently got my hands on Ableton Live and decided to make a remix of Shop Boyz – Rock Star. Why rock star? Well, cause I had the a capella, that’s about the only reason why. Anywho, didn’t spend a lot of time on this one but I think it came out pretty alright! Although, I do wish Lars could have added his flavor to it but alas he’s busy with a festival in Norway.

This song started out as an original piece, but eventually became a remix. As we progressed we had the idea to intergrate the acapella of the swedish rap group “Maskinen” and thus it became a experimental electro house/hip hop tune.

The main lyrics in the song are:
“Alla som inte dansar är våldtäktsmän
Gäller hela kvällen mellan tolv och fem”

Which means:
“Anybody who does not dance is a rapist, and that counts between midnight to five in the morning”
