Garden Party hits Best Tracks Ever… Again!

Not too long ago we posted this. Well Garden Party is up there again! I was going to just add it as a comment to our old post, but seeing as we don’t update the blog very often, a new post couldn’t hurt!

In other news, we recently entered a remix competition for Bjorn Muri – Yes Man and sent in our entry today. Deadline is Feb 14th and apparently they’ll know who the winner is the day after, but I’m not entirely sure that’s accurate. At any rate, we’ll definitely post if we win or not – if we don’t, the remix will be up for download. :)

Updates & Stuff

A couple months ago we posted the Pseudonym russebuss song, which was updated per request of the bus. They wanted it to be a little more crazy and sport their bus name. We weren’t able to post the song until now because we didn’t receive payment until now. Not sure why it took them so long, but I digress. We’ll start this post off with that.

To my knowledge we’re unable to update the youtube video audio without uploading a new vid altogether. I’d do the latter but I deleted the ae project. If anyone knows how to do this, do tell!

WIPs
If you’re wondering what we’ve been up to lately, we’ve been working on and off on several tracks, most of which we started and haven’t revisited in some time, but they’re still on the possible “to finish” list. Maybe you can help us prioritize which one to attempt to finish first, if any.

Here’s a few snippets (please ignore audio quality, these aren’t mastered yet):

Coldplay – Life in Technicolor Remix
What’s stopping us from finishing: We really want the a capella for this one, but we can’t find it anywhere! Also areas need to be improved instrumentally.

Blarsa – no name yet, wip name: dwm
What’s stopping us: Nothing really, original vocals perhaps, lack of motivation?

Collab with audioisstikz – no name yet – very early stage, wip name: et17
What’s stopping us: Lack of motivation / ideas

Collab with audioisstikz – no name yet – early stage, wip name: discoflex
What’s stopping us: We’re not very good lyricists, neither is audioisstikz. The vocals you hear in the wip are just test vocals, we ditched those lyrics already, if you can even understand them (which we’ve since cleaned up and vocals are now understandable).

There’s other tracks we’ve started but they’ll probably never make it out of Ableton Live or Cubase.

Other News:
We have a few more russe songs to do for the festival in May, so those might get posted when their time comes. Lars has been working on some solo projects in his spare time. I mixed & mastered one of his new ‘experiments’ tonight, might post that up here soon! Imagine dutch house, mixed with Lars’s style, and nintendo. That sums it up pretty well.

Surkin – Next of Kin (Living Lars Remix)

Lars had some free time recently and decided to do a solo project, a remix of Surkin’s Next of Kin.

Mastered by yours truly (always a challenge, no offense Lars LALALALALA!)

You can check out his other solo work on his YouTube profile or portfolio.

Garden Party hits Best Tracks Ever

I checked out the Newgrounds audio portal today to surprisingly see Garden Party on the “Best Tracks Ever” list. I highly doubt it will stay this way for very long but it’s still a first for us and very cool, milestone baby!

YouTube Poop Fad

I can’t believe I didn’t find this sooner. It’s what I’m calling a youtube poop fad and it’s already reached over 100 video responses, how did I not notice this? Apparently none of the videos have blarsa in the tags or description so I suppose that’s why! I’m not sure if every single video uses our Garden Party track, but so far all the ones I’ve gone through do.

Here’s the video that apparently started it all:

If you feel so intrigued, you can check out the other 100 or so video responses here. Amazing.

Busy

Lars has been swamped with work lately and now I’m in the same boat. He started working on russebus songs but obtained too much work on his plate so now I’m helping him eat it. There’s one russe song in particular that we may get to post here when it’s finished and I just got done sending it back to Lars. Now I’m gonna go shower, hit up the store, and get back to work! In the mean time, here’s a super quick snippity snippet of a track we just started last night.
